Social Media & Marketing Internship

Location: San Diego, CA 
Hours: 5-8 hours per week
Duration: Fall 2025 semester start 
Compensation: Unpaid 

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a creative and motivated Social Media & Marketing Intern who can bring fresh ideas to our digital marketing strategy. The intern will be responsible for enhancing Bloom’s online presence, creating engaging content, and connecting with our audience to increase awareness and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate content for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn) to promote services, events, and mental health resources

  • Develop a content calendar in collaboration with the team to maintain consistent social media activity

  • Monitor and engage with online followers, respond to comments, and foster an active community online

  • Assist in drafting email newsletters and blog posts, particularly around upcoming events or community stories

  • Analyze social media performance and report on engagement metrics

  • Collaborate with the Community Relations & Outreach Intern to promote community events and partnerships online

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a college program, preferably in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related fields

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and current digital trends

  • Excellent written communication and creative skills

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative on themes, projects, etc

  • Basic knowledge of Canva or other design tools is a plus

  • Familiarity with nonprofit marketing is a bonus, but not required
